Synoptic Situation
Ridge of high pressure lies to the south of the state. A trough extends from
inland to the lower west coast, then to a low offshore.

Forecasts:
Saturday: NE/NW winds 10/15 knots tending NW 15/20 knots in the afternoon and
NW/SW 13/18 knots in the evening. Seas to 1.5m. Swell to 2.0m offshore.
Swell at Cottesloe: to 0.5m.
Winds on Melville Water: Similar.

Sunday: W/NW winds 10/15 knots at first shifting W/SW 13/18 knots during the
morning and reaching S/SW 18/23 knots during the evening. Seas to 2.0m. Swell to
1.5m.
Monday: S/SW winds 15/20 knots easing to W/SW 13/18 knots by late morning.

Current Swell Observations:
Rottnest Waverider Buoy: 1.2m.
Cottesloe Waverider Buoy: 0.4m.
